My career began at age 17 when I was hired as an entry-level employee at a small optometry practice. The optometrist there provided me with crucial training and insight into the field and helped me learn about the importance of developing and maintaining a growth mindset throughout my career. This employer also encouraged me to push myself and expand into the field of ophthalmology which I swiftly did. At this second venture I expanded my knowledge and expertise by learning more about coding, billing, and collections. I quickly received multiple acknowledgements for excelling in AR collections and bringing the outstanding AR to the lowest the company had ever seen. For the past 14 years I worked as the billing manager for a moderate billing company that specialized in physical and occupational therapy. This most recent position provided ample room for both personal and professional growth as I was responsible for the direct supervision and training of all company staff, managing daily operations throughout the company, and ensuring all employees were being productive on the team in the interest of the company.
